i think the game is too loose; it won't fit "snuggly" in the holder...is it supposed to?

it has some sort of adapter for the antenna (sp?)...i hooked it up...perhaps my t.v. isn't on the right channel? there's definately power going to the system.

Ok, the antenna thing should be hooked right into the tv, with the cable/antenna/DVD cable plugged into it. Don't run it through another device like a DVD player, home theatre, etc. It just complicates shit.

Look on the back of the game console. There's a button you can switch for what channel you want it to play on. Then turn on the console and the tv. If one channel doesn't seem to work, try the other. For example, I can't get mine to work on Ch. 4, so I have to set it on 3.

Is any signal getting through to the tv at all? What's it say/look like, if so?

it's black...maybe a few fuzzy lines that come on, but mostly black...it seems like it's getting some sort of signal, but the audio/video isn't working. where is the button on the back of the system? i found it on the connector, but can't seem to find it on the console...

On mine, there's a deep, square hole near the power connector. Inside is a tiny switch. If you have a different model, like the one with the CD, then maybe it's not on the console but on the adapter...?

If nothing seems to work, then try getting a new game adapter. Something like this from Radio Shack should do ya: [link]
